ARTISTRY
into everything we do
is woven
from how we reinterpret materials to the seeds of project planning, community partnerships, and the purposes of the places we create.
Nick Pourfard
We uplift the artistic process and believe artists are the bridge between past, present, and a more regenerative future. Their work has the power to share stories, while also meeting the demands of our changing environments.

Why We Center the Artist
Artists find the courage to be vulnerable in their practice
They infuse deep care and integrity into their process of rediscovery
Together we can ask the question “How might we do things differently?”
Faces from the Guild
“As an artist, it's impossible to understate how valuable it is to be able to work with people who genuinely honor creative process. Working with Unfold has been exceptionally gratifying in this way — process is not only accommodated but celebrated in its own right. It generates a craft-centric ethos, rather than one focused on delivery.”
- Ren von Hasseln
“Unfold is much more than a project or an idea; it’s a highly attuned, living organism that values process over product and wellbeing above all. The precept Think globally, act locally becomes fully embodied ethos here, thanks to the holistic leadership of Mel Meagher. Mel’s approach to collaboration through the formation of creative guilds is dignifying and vitalizing, respecting the autonomy of we craftspeople while providing us a supportive hive to grow our ideas inside. Unfold is also where reverence meets relevance; we hold ourselves accountable to the past, present, and future —-and we have fun doing it.”
- Britton Neubacher
“The process has been great. I feel all the ‘work’ or rather “artwork" and the process of making has been given top priority. This is rare.
It inspires me to do my best.”
- Jason Lane
Becoming part of the Unfold

The Unfold Center for Regenerative Craft is a non-profit being developed to support artists by giving them time to slow down, further experiment with new edges of their craft and interweave the natural world into their practices. Through artist residencies, workshops, and events, Unfold Center for Regenerative Craft reinvigorates spirit, while pushing for a regenerative future.
